The National Protection and Programs Directorate (NPPD) Geospatial Branch (GB) provides geospatial visualization of the critical infrastructure, along with threats, for protection against, response to, and recovery from all threats and hazards. The GB provides the necessary geographical context by creating maps, analysis, and displays of critical infrastructure for decision-making, situational awareness, security planning and operations, and facility security assessments. The GB provides geospatial analytics, visualization products that support the understanding of all-hazards consequences to the Nation’s critical infrastructure through geographic depiction of the results or evaluations of potential consequences due to disruption, dependencies, interdependencies, and cascading impacts related to physical or cyber threats or incidents. The GB uses the Homeland Security Infrastructure Program (HSIP) data set, Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) data, collected infrastructure data, hazard models, open source hazard data (hurricane tracks and wind, Sea, Lake and Overland Surges from Hurricanes (SLOSH), shake maps, floodplain data, chemical and radiological plumes, explosive effects, etc.), and other data to create static maps, Google Earth and ArcGIS Explorer displays, and web map services.

Work will be performed at the Department of Homeland Security Facilities within the National Capital Region, primarily at 1401 S Clark Street, Arlington, VA and 1310 North Courthouse Road, Arlington, VA.

US citizenship and successful completion of government background investigation required.   Existing DHS EOD or Secret Security Clearance or above, highly desirable.
